Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (Under National University)

As part of its commitment for quality education and training in the overall aspects of journalism, BIJEM introduced a 1-year Post Graduate Diploma Course in Journalism from 2004-05 academic year under the National University.
Besides, imparting academic knowledge on the students, this course aims at coordinating multidimensional information on the subject matter and creates a research based professional environment. It should be noted that initiating this type of long-term academic course was one of the prime objective of BIJEM at the time of its inception. BIJEM believes that this post graduate Diploma Course in Journalism would definitely contribute to the expansion of journalistic education and create job opportunities for the learners.
Already a good number of students have completed the Diploma course under the National University and hundred percent (100 %) students obtained second class. Undoubtedly this result is a success of BIJEM.


Diploma in Journalism (Correspondence)


BIJEM has started a new course from 2010 titled "Diploma in Journalism Course (Correspondence/Online)". This is BIJEM's own course based on new idea. The main objectives of this course are to reach journalism education up to grass root level with minimum course fee and to develop the skill of the journalists in the districts and the upzila level. The course is one year long. Main contents of the course are: History of Journalism, Definition of News, Elements of News, News Value, Report Writing, Different kinds of Report and Journalism, Feature Writing, News Editing, TV News Reporting etc. There is no provision to take the class in the institute. Every month a bundle of high class lecture sheets will be sent to the students through courier service, post office or online. After 11 months students have to appear in a written exam (650 marks) and have to face viba board (50 marks). After the result, successful students will get BIJEM's certificate.
